Romantische Strasse

Back in the day, the Romantische Strasse (Romantic Road) was an old highway that stretched about 220 miles from the center of Germany to the south. It was a common trade route, lined with quaint, picturesque German towns.

Our Very Own Apartment

WE FINALLY HAVE A HOME!! We officially moved into our apartment on October 1st. (Four and a half months after moving to Germany!) And thank God for all the amazing, hospitable, caring people who helped us in the process. So why in the world did it take so long and why didn’t we plan... Continue Reading →

Berlin, Germany

October 3rd is Tag der Deutschen Einheit, a day that celebrates the anniversary of German reunification when the Berlin wall came down and West Berlin was no longer split from East Berlin. This year it was on a Monday, so we got a 3 day weekend! Whoo! And what better way to spend a three... Continue Reading →

Zurich, Switzerland

Oh man…Zurich, Switzerland…I just fell in love with a city that I can’t afford. Zurich is a quick, 45 minute flight from Nuremberg. We took off on Friday after work and arrived just in time to check into our Airbnb and then go find dinner. (Side note- our Airbnb was awesome. If you’re ever in... Continue Reading →

Stress Less, Travel More

Now I can’t say that Taylor and I have all the answers,... Continue Reading →

Calling This Place Home

To say the last month has been a little crazy is an understatement. I went on a work trip, came home sick, and slept for a solid week (I think. It's all a little hazy.) But we got to see friends from the United States in Germany TWICE in the past month! Our day-to-day routines... Continue Reading →

Anniversary Weekend in Mallorca

One great way to travel for cheap? Credit card rewards! This last weekend we turned in our hard earned credit card points for a trip to Mallorca to celebrate our anniversary. We’ve spent the majority of the summer in Germany and haven’t to the ocean, a lake, or even a pool the whole time. (I’ve... Continue Reading →

A Day Trip to Bamburg

Week days around here are starting to feel a little normal. We might be living on the other side of the world, but we still wake up early Monday through Friday. We work from 8 to 5, try to muster up the self-discipline to go to the gym, then head to bed and tackle the... Continue Reading →

Staying Safe in Unfamiliar Places

I’ve heard the average person passes about 7 psychopaths a day…yikes! The world can be a dangerous place. Whether you’re in your own home or on the other side of the world, there are bad people around you who are doing bad things. That’s a reality that will not change. So how do we keep...
